It was a bit of a paradox beginning the new school year in the smack middle of summer. It felt like the hottest day of the year to boot. Nonetheless we begin the routines anew. (Is this another paradox?)
Focusing on gratitude, I choose to thank the self-respecting homeroom teachers. You do the work of heroes. HIDOE teachers reported back to duty for two days of which one allowed for teacher prep time. The next two days were furloughed. And then, it was Monday and all students and parents showed up eager to meet the new year. Thank you homeroom teachers, you are miracle workers.
